We left rainy Brunswick today and drove to Meriden, CT. It took us about 3 hours to get here, and we picked up Jake (Chelsea's dad) on the way. This is what our whole vacation is centered around! Tomorrow, Chelsea is graduating from the University of New Haven with two degrees: Forensic Science and Biology! She is also in the honors program there. I'm so proud of her!!
When we got to Meriden we immediately drove to West Haven and helped Chelsea pack some of her things (she's moving back to Arizona). After that, it was back to Meriden to eat really good italian food. This hotel has a fitness center! I locked myself in it for an hour before going to bed. Good thing I had just loaded up on carbs.... sorta :)
Once again I was kind and did not photograph Chelsea's apartment. Have you ever wanted to wring your kid's neck? This is how I felt when I saw that she hadn't done ANYTHING to prepare for the move. After loading some big things into the car, we left her for the evening with the task of gathering everything else she owns into one corner so we can deal with it in the morning. Hopefully that task was accomplished. I'm looking forward to enjoying the graduation and bringing her back home to AZ. We are all very proud of her accomplishments!
Since we didn't take any photos today, I'll post another one that Ken took of my favorite Maine dog, Molly. Don't you just want to kiss that face?
