Portland/Brunswick, Pt. 4

Today, Wendy and I went to Old Port in Portland.  It's a nice part of the downtown area with lots of shopping and eating.  Lobster roll #5 was consumed there.  Yum.  We were a little early for the shops to be open, but there was one that was open before 10am. This particular shop had lots of musical instruments, and as you may or may not know, I like to collect instruments.  I already have a native american double flute, a bamboo flute, a traveler's saxophone, several tin whistles, a kalimba, a shakuhachi, and a didgeridoo.  Of course, I also have my keyboard, organ, and violin.  Well, I was able to add two more instruments to my collection: a pan flute and... Um, I don't know what the other thing is called, but it makes a very strange sound.

After walking around Portland for what seemed like hours, we came back to the hotel and I decided it was time to take that run I've been wanting to do.  I haven't actually been out running in the world for a long time, but it felt awesome.  Only a six mile run and it flew by like nothing.  I didn't take my phone with me so I couldn't take any pictures of the pretty scenery, but maybe Wendy and I will walk it another day.

Our day ended with sushi.  Not too bad!  I am really looking forward to tomorrow because we are going to a local pub to see some of Wendy's high school friends play and sing at the open mic night they have there.
Wendy's Notes:

Women will appreciate this - I found the PERFECT purse in the Old Port!  That was a definite highlight for me today.
Sage advice found in a store window in the Old Port.
